Didn't expect much but stained towels was the deciding factor

My husband and I visited Leesburg for a weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. I chose this hotel because of the location, being a national chain (figured they would abide by COVID rules) and price. We didn't want anything fancy since we knew we would be out exploring the majority of the time but when I saw stained towels in our bathroom I was completely disgusted.
My husband took a shower and noticed that half of the body wash bottle was empty and he noticed there was a stain on one of the towels. After looking at all of the towels, I would say about 3 or 4 towels were stained with what looked like blood or something along those lines. I know this isn't a 5 star hotel, nor did I want it be, but stained towels is pretty gross in my opinion.
As far as COVID guidelines, we saw multiple staff members not wearing masks while at the front desk or while walking around the hotel. There were 2 bottles of water in the fridge in the room, so it made me even question of the room was fully cleaned. Instead of their normal breakfast service they do brown bagged grab and go bags which consisted of a bottle of water, granola bar, muffin and orange (that looked more like a lemon).
For $300 for 2 nights, I would say this experience was pretty poor. We loved Leesburg and we will definitely return but we won't be staying at this hotel. less
