I stayed here for two nights in March. This is a property with very nice staff but that’s where the positives end. The room is outdated and feels dirty. This is also a hotel that tolerates smoking and drinking on the premises. This results in an unsafe environment.
The second night of my stay, the stench of smoke was unbearable. I called the front desk and asked them to check on this and to check the side entrance in case someone was smoking there. I later realized that the stench was coming from several men who were smoking and drinking alcohol at the side entrance. The front desk never checked on this. I had to walk through these people as I went outside to let my dog out. I then encountered another drunk older man carrying a beer and smoking a pipe, just feet from the side entrance. He was literally wobbling and murmured something while walking by me. It was an awful experience and I felt unsafe. I reported the incident to the manager the next morning. He apologized and refunded one night, which I appreciated. However this should not have happened in the first place. less

While it is never easy to hear that a guest’s experience was anything less than ideal, we welcome all feedback and appreciate your taking the time to tell us about your stay. Please accept our sincere apologies for the issues you encountered with other guests during your time here. Local ordinances do prohibit the consumption of alcohol in public areas; unfortunately, occasionally individuals will disregard these rules. Whenever we are made aware of a situation such as this, it is always our goal to ensure it is addressed as quickly as possible to ensure that our valued guests are not negatively impacted. I am disappointed to hear that this was not the case during your stay and I can assure you that we are reviewing our policies here at the hotel to ensure future guests do not encounter this same concern. We sincerely hope that you will reconsider staying with us again in the future so we will have the opportunity to demonstrate that this disappointing experience was an exception.
