Catherine C, Owner at BEST WESTERN Lansdowne Hotel, responded to this review
Dear emmatheresechandler Thank you for your review of our hotel. Room 110's bedrooms was refurbished last year and we have had all positive comments about it so far. I guess it is a matter of opinion but if you look at the way that many hotels that are in old buildings such as ours refurbish, mixing the old with the new is not a new concept! Antique wardrobes to still remain authentic with a more modern light fitting or soft furnishings is the vision for our hotel. Sorry that you don't agree. I have looked at the net curtains and I see no stains as I don't on the carpet. This carpet is perfectly acceptable. I have also looked at the bathroom - a small discolouring to the grout in the corner of the bath but really not that bad to mention in my opinion. The cleanliness is another matter, more often than not we get praised on our high standards of cleanliness so I am sorry if you didn't feel it was up to scratch. I have mentioned this to my housekeeper. Breakfast is most certainly not 'bad'. We have a very busy breakfasts as weekends and the staff clean tables as quickly as possible in order to accommodate our guests as they come down. As far as the bar is concerned - did you mention that the table you sat at in the bar had a dirty table cloth to our bar staff? More than likely the table had just been used. They have clean table cloths behind the bar. I do however, thank you for your positive comments on our bar staff and food! Kind regards, Catherine Clifford Partner
