We have just returned from this hotel after a mid week break, we had a good deal on booking.com booking and paying in advance. Our room was a quiet one at the back, very good size and very good bed with tea and biscuits provided every day. Everything was very clean, the bathroom was good but the shower did rather need some minor attention to stop it flowing back down the outside 0f the tube, however we were able to shower with correct temperature water. Here I would add that we normally stay at 4/5 star hotels, but the towels provided by this hotel were top quality, fluffy and thick, so 10\10 for that one. We did eat a lunch there, which was a good portion, but only warm and as I like hot food this was not so good. We did have breakfast and the quality of the food was good and they kept bringing out new hot food so all was hot if you caught it right. The majority of the staff are not English and whilst they are all very very polite and attentive, there were errors but I put this down to lack of training from management, but then the hotel was full and busy but being a victorian type hotel it was divided into small areas, but with character. They do stop doing hot food after 9pm and when we returned from a show we wanted supper and to be fair the deputy manager overruled an abrupt bar person and said they were quite prepared to provide cold sandwiches and tea again 10\10 for good service. We were pleasant surprised by Eastbound they have invested in the town and shows and prices are very fair, so all in all yes we would return both for the town and also for a very nice comfortable hotel... less

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am really pleased to hear that you were happy with your room and that the towels exceeded your expectations! We are doing alot of refurbishment of our rooms at the moment and with 102 rooms it is ongoing! However I'm sorry to hear that the shower was not adequate. Did you report this to reception? We always like to try and rectify maintenance issues as soon as they are reported.
We do have alot of foreign staff and as you can see from the majority of our reviews we get great comments regarding the staff. Training is ongoing however we are always looking to improve on customer service.
We hope that we will see you back here at the Lansdowne at some point in the near future.
