I regularly visit this hotel, and have done for nearly 30 years and can concur with all reviews who point out the excellent facilities, restaurant and comfortable lounges. I stayed during a very busy period, but the service was first class: the restaurant was very efficient and professional, and the food excellent. I had the lamb several times because it was so good, but everything was very enjoyable and well presented. I would certainly recommend people booking to avail of the half-board option, dining in the restaurant every night.
The wine list is especially impressive and well-presented, including fine French wines at a very reasonable price, and excellent selection of house wines. Very unusually these days, the Lansdowne maintains the fine tradition of offering half-bottles at very reasonable prices,
The bar is a very comfortable and social place to sit and enjoy a pre- or post-prandial drink and the bar staff very obliging. Excellent lunches are served in the bar and evening meals also.
As I have written before, the lounges are very elegant and comfortable, providing quiet areas at all times, even during the busiest periods. The décor is very tasteful and comfortable. Many of he staff have been with the hotel many years.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the sea-view rooms have a great atmosphere. Like an old friend, you expect it to mellow with age, and this adds to the charm of the hotel. The road in front of the hotel is very quiet at night because it is at the end of the Parade adjacent to The Grand Hotel. Parking is free in the several side roads.
Very importantly, the wi-fi has been vastly improved and it is now possible to get fast access suitable for business purposes in one's room. There are also printing and fax facilities at reception and in a lounge.
There is always personal service from the staff and manager, and as the hotel is privately-owned, this adds greatly to the personal touches and efficiency.
I noted several groups and business meetings during y stay but they in no way impinged on the enjoyment of the private quests. There are two very restaurants and several alcoves in the main restaurant, providing a fine atmosphere for diners. less

I am delighted you have returned and have been staying at the hotel for over 30 years.
I am very pleased that although the hotel was very busy the service was first class.
