Our second visit to this hotel. Made up of several original townhouses acquired and added over the years the Landsdowne has a comfortable grandeur in it's public rooms but also has real heart, coming from the staff who do go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
We had a comfortable twin room, which turned out to be a good size. Things are a little different at the moment due to covid. Room staff will not routinely make your room up unless you specifically ask for them to do so. There's the usual tea and coffee in the rooms. Breakfast is limited currently but done well - various permutations of eggs and full cooked breakfast including a veggie option.
There's a restaurant for the evenings if you want to do the traditional dinner, but there's also a bar on the ground floor which does basic bar meals.
We can also recommend the afternoon tea which is served in a nice lounge.
It's located a little past the Wish Tower on the sea front but is only a short walk from the Towner Gallery, the theatres, and the town. less
