From the very beginning, when after ringing twice, nobody came to operate the lift into the hotel. Self-propelled wheelchair would not fit onto platform, would not fit into one of the lifts. The angle of the door on the accessible room would not allow the wheelchair to pass. Management did their best, but they should not be passing themselves off as an accessible establishment, it is dishonest. less

Thank you P1367FNsylviad for taking the time to leave a review of the hotel. As we explained at the time we only have 2 rooms which are accessible with a wheelchair, unfortunately you had not been allocated one of these rooms as you had requested a walk in shower, but not advised us that you would be bringing a wheelchair. We have 2 lifts within the hotel, 1 of them is large enough for a wheelchair and is located near to the accessible rooms making it easier for guests. Our wheelchair lift has been used thousands of times and we have never encountered a problem before, however as soon as we were alerted to the issue my maintenance team promptly amended the lift to accommodate the wheelchair and I am sorry for the wait you had whilst we rectified the issue. We did try and accommodate you within the hotel and I apologise that we were unable too. We have never been dishonest though, all of our ground floor is accessible, every floor can be accessed from the hotel lifts and the accessible rooms are fitted with wide doors and wet rooms.
I do hope the alternative accommodation we arranged for you was suitable and I am sorry for the impact we had on your trip to Eastbourne.
