We were very happy when we arrived at the hotel and were given room keys before official check-in time. What we were surprised about was finding the room already occupied. Turns out the new trainee at the Reception desk made a slight mistake entering the room number. We still got into our room soon after arrival, and were very happy with the room. We had a nice view overlooking the area. We could see attractions and the sunset while sitting on the balcony. The beds were very comfortable and we got the requested fridge and microwave as well. The TV was pretty fuzzy (not that we needed it, but it's something to wind us down before bed). Maintenance came right up to look at it, but said it was the cable in the wall. I have a feeling it's been the cable in the wall for a while. The problem wasn't fixed before we left. There was very little "outside" or "hotel" noise, so we slept very well.
Oh, although we made reservations for our stay on another website, there is a $15 "resort fee" per day you'll be charged upon arrival.
We had dinner at their restaurant (Tuesday night), but were unhappy with the wait time. The place was pretty empty, but we waited about 15 minutes before being seated. Turns out there was a skeleton crew on that night because it's usually a slow night. That's fine for them to plan that, but when there's only 3 tables ahead of us... So, we ordered a Wipe Out and Tropical Hoover to start while eating the tortilla chips. We ordered the carnitas, which were very good. Some of the food (salsa, black beans & rice) tasted like it was from a grocery store instead of being made on-site, but it was still good. We also ordered the Club Wrap - it was average.
Shuttles to the Disney parks were every 30 minutes, so no problems getting there or back to the hotel - just make sure you take the "B" bus. They usually run to an hour after parks close, but double check with your driver. They also have a taxi that hangs out. You can grab it whenever it's there or schedule it (like to Universal). Otherwise, if you don't have a rental car, you can Uber or take the Lynx bus. Disney Springs is walking distance. I must say that we were not impressed with the "Guest Services" (concierge) desk. They had little information, were usually on their personal cell phones or wanted to get you to take the Wyndham hotel tour to receive a gift card. They could use a LOT of help in learning the area and getting answers to tourists' questions. The valets were very considerate, nice, and more helpful than guest services.
So, there are some areas the hotel can improve upon, but I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. less
