I arrived with a party of 18 golfers for our annual easter cup comp.We vary in ages all over 20 to 70+ ,so we are not easy to please ,this being our 14th yr of different courses.
First the hotel is well situated should you wish to travel to the coast but a car is a must as it is in the country .The staff could not do anything wrong for us and looked after us all ,including changing our set menu to fish and chips for those wanting a taste of the local catch. The rooms were ok with bath/showers and coffee/tea facilities ,the one surprise was no iron, the beds where double and single combo ,with some of our team having 2 doubles. The food was great ,(personnel recommendation is the medallion of
beef ) The breakfast is standard all you can eat buffet with real lincoln sausages.
The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. In 14yrs at golf/hotels all over the uk this is only time nobody had a crossword to say and for 18 blokes that's got to be good.
The club house is separate from the main hotel and gets a special mention for staying open later on easter sunday afternoon to provide us with food and drink .
The other facilities at the hotel we didn't use due to our tee times being in the afternoon so I cannot say what they are like. less
