We recently stayed here for two nights. We got room 215 which is a suite with lounge area, desk, and separate bed area. There were three large picture windows (which opened to let in fresh air). Being on the second floor was awesome for people watching.
The room had a small fridge and coffee maker. We asked for a kettle as we are tea drinkers. There is a 24 hour tea/coffee station near reception. No safe in the room but this seems normal for Norway.
I researched this hotel and it came back as 3 stars and I am a bit surprised as it is lovely. No not modern but hotel itself was built in 1899 so a very old building but with a nice feel. The location was perfect, being close to everything. We drove and the parking station is about a 10 min walk. Hard to find initially as you come to the end of Rosenkrantz Gate and come face to face with a white building and you then have to sort of veer to the left side of the building and the parking is around the back.
There is sort of convenience store/take away right below plus heaps of other dining options such as O'Learys Irish Pub and TGI Fridays plus Peppes Pizza across the road. Breakfast was included in the room rate and it was excellent with the usual fare of meatballs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, salad, fish, fresh bread, waffles, yoghurt, fruit, toppings and cereal. I have found that everywhere we have stayed in Norway, they serve extremely good breakfasts. No cappuccino only brewed coffee, a slight disappointment. less
