I would definitely stay here again. Finding a good hotel in a small town can be a challenge sometimes, but that wasn't a problem this time. The hotel is in a great location where you can walk to everything in town, including the biggest draw in John Day (Kam Wah Chung). The hotel has been nicely remodeled, not just sloppily refreshed.
It wasn't perfect, though. The parts that matter most were clean, but not the things that need a good cleaning every week or month or so. The bathtub drain was full of hair and not draining properly, which led someone to take the drain plug off and expose it. The drain in the sink wasn't real clean, either. But, I am pretty picky about hotel cleanliness, and was still happy. They gave us two conditioners and no shampoo, which isn't a big deal, but it kind of just led me to believe that while someone cares about the hotel overall, the cleaning staff might be a bit rushed.
Internet was fine, not great. The parking lot is very tight, but I imagine there would be plenty of street parking if it was too tight or too full. less
