First time solo traveller.
Fantastic experience from start to finish.24 hour reception/help was fab as I arrived late night. The hotel was immaculate, bathroom ,bedding(I'm a real fuss pot but no complaints at all) Had a lovely nights sleep on a huge bed,and considering JFK is minutes away you can't hear a thing Honest !!! So quiet.you hardly hear other guests either.Breakfast is 5-9 / 6-10 weekends. So much choice,Hot foods, eggs bacon sausage, and delicious fried potatoes.Healthy cereals, porridge, fresh fruits.Choice of breads ,even make your own waffles. Variety of fruit juices, filtered water and tea/coffee machine is available 24 /7.All staff members were so helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.Hotel is minutes from jfk,get on the Air train from terminals,go to Federal Circle, downstairs you take a small bus to Hotels.Get on the Best western or Holiday inn bus(they are next to each other) you won't wait to long they run every 20 minutes, takes 5minutes or so to Hotel. These are free to use anytime 24/7you need to get back to JFK.I used them a lot to link up with the subway into Manhattan .Go to Jamaica then get the E train to 34st/Penn st station, you can walk to almost anywhere from there. You buy a Metro card ,don't worry there are a lot of assistance to help with fares, destinations etc,its really easy and well signposted.I travelled all over on the subway, from Times square went to the ferry (its free) to view Statue of liberty.I chose this Hotel as financially, its value for money compared to inner city hotels, some don't serve food on the premises and are more expensive. Fares are very reasonable so I was still better off financially,I didn't even use cabs.I personally preferred to be close to the airport. So if you don't mind using the subway, this is a fantastic choice.Happy travels. less
