I don’t like to write reviews like this, and I rarely have. It give me no pleasure to slam an establishment, but when I get unwanted surprises well, here it goes. Checked in to see a sigh on the front desk saying please excuse our appearance during improvements. In other words, construction hell. There was no mention when we booked for 5 days that there was any construction taking place. Most of the first floor was under renovation and while I understand this needs to happen every once in a while,at least notify the guests in advance. We stayed on the second floor and weren’t as affected as our friend who stayed n the first. Second, the pool was ice cold. Impossible to get in. Why do people come to Florida in Jan? To get into the water! Our room on the 2nd floor was not good. It had recently been renovated. Lets get this straight. The bathroom had. Not the room. They did a terrible job on the bathroom. There was a basketball size hole on the inside of the door.The sink didn’t work and filled up with water. There was a big jacuzzi in our room which we were told didn’t work. Why not remove it during renovation. It took up a lot of valuable room space room. Finally,no safe in the room. I always lock my valuables in a hotel safe even if it might not be the most secure location it beats leaving them in your suitcase. Unfortunately when we got home, my wife noticed her gold necklace and earrings were missing. I can’t prove anything and I won’t say who the the lady cleaning was. We had enough of the Best Western after two day and checked out early. I would not return again that’s for certain. To bad because I will miss the walk to the Dive bar restuarant along the Riverwalk less
