Just recently on my trip across Texas I needed somewhere to spend the night and got tired around New Braunfels. I decided to spend the night there. Since I am a best western rewards member I decided to stay at this “motel” ( that’s all it was) it’s located on interstate highway 35 right off the freeway along with a bunch of other roadside motels that all looked nice. I made a reservation and got to the location, the outside looked nice and it seemed kept up. I parked and went into the lobby and was able to tell that it wasn’t as kept up inside as the outside was, but it wasn’t bad. I checked in and went to my king suite room. Along the way I noticed that the place was clean but was dated. When I got to my room I saw otherwise, at first it looked alright but as I started looking I noticed some issues with the cleanliness. The major issue I saw was that in the bathtub there was a large stain and dirt on there, the bathroom floor wasn’t cleaned properly, and the towels were not great. The cleanliness of the bathroom seemed to be an issue that I run into at a lot of best westerns. Then I noticed that there were crumbs of some kind in both the couch and the chair. The desk chair also wasn’t cleaned properly. Finally I noticed that the drapes on the window were falling off and messed up. The room should not have been rented to me in the state that it was in. I was tired and had to get up early to drive to Austin to catch a flight the next morning so I decided to just go to sleep. At least the bed was clean and comfortable, that about the only thing that was okay about the room. Overall based on this experience I would not stay at this motel again and would not recommend it. less
