Check in was a nightmare as the desk clerk ran my card for full amount of stay and the $25 "hold" for incidentals, instead of the $25 incidental hold. She did this twice all the while stating that they did not do that. No apology given either. She did correct it while talking to the credit card company. Turning on the heater set off the smoke alarm. Microwave did not shut off properly allowing the cooked item to be burnt. Strangely having a room full of smoke did not set off the smoke alarm. Front desk manager did not offer any compensation for how we were treated upon check in. Only an apology (that did not seem very sincere), and a vague promise to look into the matter. Room was spacious enough and clean. Hotel is located close to Walmart, a small mall, and a few restaurants, as well as the town's aquatic center. Breakfast lady is a people pleaser who will go out of her way to make the breakfast experience as best as possible. There is no stove, so no hot breakfast here. There is a variety of breakfast sandwiches (mostly Jimmy Dean), breads, a waffle maker, and packaged hard boiled eggs, cereals (including oatmeal packages) and gluten free Corn Chex, hot coffee, apple and orange juice, milk, and Bigalow tea assortment, as well as fresh fruit (clementines and bananas this week). Given the way we were treated at check in and the attitude at check out from the front desk manager, I cannot recommend this hotel to any of my coworkers. less
