We were there for a few nights, just to get out of the summer heat of the Phoenix area. Pinetop is a wonderful community surrounded by tall pines and close to activities and gorgeous scenery. This is a great little affordable hotel with excellent front desk staff that made our stay comfortable. The rooms were immaculate, cleaned early every day, never a problem coming back in the afternoon to find it unattended, and never a heavy scent of cleaning supplies or air freshener thankfully.
Breakfast was hot, fresh and ample. Eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals, usual carbs to toast, oatmeal in packets. The waffle maker worked fine, there were strawberries and whipped cream on the weekend, which was a nice treat. Nice collection of black teas, coffee was average, but available all day. Apples and bananas.
Our room was towards the back, and we heard no street noise or except for a few steps from upstairs guests, never heard anyone else or their tv, through the walls or ceiling, and those were nights the hotel was sold out. Loved that. The hotel backs up onto a lovely neighborhood which was perfect for walking their streets amidst tall pines. At the top of the hill behind the hotel is actually a Trailhead into the national forest, once again surrounded by lush tall pine trees.
The location is terrific, close to restaurants and an easy getaway out of town to the forest, ski mountain or points east. We drove through Greer and Sunrise, then headed south to Alpine and Hannagan Meadows for a day trip, so many meadows and pine forests!
This is a hotel we will return to, so glad we found it, just perfect for our needs. less
