Recently stayed here with the majority of my family overnight. In all we stayed in 3 rooms - my parents in one King room, my brothers and I in two Double Bed rooms. I reserved the rooms through AAA, so got really great discount pricing.
The front desk attendants were very friendly and helpful. Well done at the front desk for my brothers and me!
My parents stayed a few nights, and one day my Mom said she could not get the printer at the business center to work and could not find the front desk attendant. Not sure what the problem was since I wasn't there, but felt it was worth mentioning.
The breakfast bar attendant was not attendant at all. My husband went to tell her that the coffee had run out (two insulated pumpers worth), and found her playing on her cell phone in the prep area. She told him that she couldn't use the microwave and make coffee at the same time due to a breaker overloading - but she never did refill the coffee during breakfast hours. Overall, she seemed unenthusiastic, grumpy, even. Perhaps it was a bad day for her.
Fairly typical continental breakfast fare - Waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, yogurt (2 types), coffee, hot water, instant flavored oatmeal, breads, danishes, muffins, bananas and apples, different fruit juices.
The Double Rooms were very small - if you're hoping to have a desk with an office chair, get a Queen or King room. We had three people in each of the double rooms and it was very tight. The room itself was clean, well maintained. Everything functioned fine, though there was no phone in the room for a wake-up call. TV is a nice size, and a good sized mini-fridge and microwave, too. The lighting is a little dim and my husband had trouble shaving and I had problems getting my make-up done correctly, so that might be something to consider.
The hotel was quite noisy from the hours to 11 am to approximately 6 pm - lots of doors banging, loud talking, etc. This could have been because we were on the first floor near the front desk.
Overall, a fairly solid stay for a Best Western. Good location right off of the 422 outerbelt, though the entrance isn't well marked once you turn into the Walmart "complex". Quick drive straight into IUP's campus or the center of town from this hotel. less
