We stayed two nights at this hotel, which we booked primarily due to our day trip to visit the UNESCO world heritage sites at nearby Shirakawa-go. The hotel is only 5 minute walk from the train station, which is also the departure point for the Shirakawa-go tours, so very handy location.
The toilet overflowed in our first room in our first half hour, and management quickly moved us across the hall to another room. Rooms were compact (like most of our hotel rooms in Japan) but spotless and well organized. We appreciated the slippers and pajamas and comfortable beds. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was the usual buffet of Japanese and Western dishes. Unique addition were cornflakes--quite a treat! We used the hotel's laundry service and while it seemed a tad pricey, the results were impeccable, with each item packaged in its own plastic bag, and men's shirts ironed and adorned with paper bow ties--our laundry never looked so good!
The hotel recommended a yakitori restaurant which was excellent (can't recall the name--we walked under the train tracks, went two blocks, then turned right--Binchi something).
A comfortable stay in a convenient location. less
