Owner Response
Delphine Q, Directeur général at Best Western Hotel Litteraire Gustave Flaubert, responded to this review
Dear Madam, The whole team of our Literary Hotel is delighted to have been able to make your stay a pleasant one. As you have seen, Rouen is a city rich in history and discoveries. The Old Market, the historical centre and the Cathedral have observed the birth and the development of the talent of Gustave Flaubert. This great man of letters found his inspiration in his native Normandy for its famous writings such as “Madame Bovary”, “Un Coeur simple” or even “Bouvard et Pécuchet”. Walking around these roads allowed you to follow in the footsteps of this colourful writer with a fair and lyrical pen. I’m glad you could see the spectacle “Cathédrale de Lumière”. This year, Viking and the discovery of the New World are two shows that put in a new light the stones of our Cathedral. From the 1st June to the 15th September, travellers and Normans alike assist to that unique show that makes the eyes of young and old people sparkle. What a pleasure to learn that you appreciated the story it was telling. If your artistic soul has awakened to the sight of this graphic representation, we will be happy to welcome you next summer to allow you to discover its next tableau. It will be the occasion to renew your artistic walk in our literary hotel during a calm and inspired break. Delphine Questel General Manager Hotel Littéraire Gustave Flaubert 4* +33 2 35 71 00 88
