Dreadful - fawlty towers - typical French customer service

Booked prior to catching ferry as it said had a small pool/whirl pool, sauna etc. Spent 20 mins using it. Was charged an extra €30 on check out!!!! Steam room took ages to steam. "Pool" was too cool for a whirlpool and too hot for a plunge after sauna. Towels in room/pool were like old paper. Should long since have been thrown out. No non slip map in shower or bath mat outside, almost slipped over. No one was there who could do cash check out. A sour faced man called pugnat, claiming to be manager, came out after some 10 minutes who had an attitude like basil faulty. €158 with no breakfast in a pokey little room. Deeply unpleasant experience and foul manager. AVOID UNLESS ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS SLEEPING IN THE STREET. less

I have just taken note of your feedback left on booking.com following your stay in our house and am amazed at your remarks.
1- I invite you to reread the general conditions concerning our house on the site booking.com and you will see that it is well mentioned that the access to the spa is with a supplement of 15 €. For this price we have brought to your room two bags each including a bathrobe, a towel and a pair of flip-flops!
2- Regarding the time you are staying in our Spa, this only depended on you since you were alone at that time.
3- Please note that our room prices are identical (or sometimes even lower) than those charged by our colleagues in the same category who do not offer a spa or wellness area. It is for this reason that we chose not to increase our room rates but to charge this service to people who wish to use it !!!
4- Indeed, our room service found that you did not declare the consumption of a coca in your minibar when I asked you at the time of the departure, it is for this reason that I wanted Clarify this situation.
5- Our parking is provided free of charge to our clientele and comprises 15 places and not 8 as you mention !!! (We are the only hotel in downtown Caen to offer this service).
6- Surprising your notion of warmth while your stay took place on January 17, 2017 with an outside temperature between -1 ° and + 1 ° !!!!!! I do not understand your need for air conditioning and more at a time when everyone has a duty to do
7- energy saving !!!!!
8- About my behavior, I did my job in a professional way and would have appreciated that you remained calm when I presented your bill (room + spa) knowing that you had not consumed breakfasts nor Catering.
