Friendly staff are what really makes this hotel; we were due to check out at 2am due to very early flights and the gentleman at the front desk (lovely chap with spiky hair, sorry that we didn't catch your name!) arranged for us to have breakfasts in a bag put in the mini-bar of our room, so that we could take them with us. First class service!
The beds were comfy and the room was nice and clean. It's near a railway track but the trains are very quiet and we hardly noticed them during the night. Be advised there are no facilities to store passports safely etc, as there is not a safe in the room/somewhere that things can be locked away at front desk. We had to carry all our money and passports with us for the full 5 days we were there. That's the only downside we could find.
We really enjoyed the variety of breakfast on offer each morning; you could have traditional continental ham and cheese with rye bread or go for the full Swedish with herring or have a cooked breakfast with scrambled egg, bacon and beans. Lots of varieties of cereal, juices and super yummy fresh bread every morning!
To get to the hotel, you need to take the red metro line to Morby Centrum- it's the final stop on the line, so you can't miss your stop. It takes about 15-20 mins from T-central to get there. (Morby Centrum has 2 decent supermarkets open until 10pm, a shopping mall and a post office)
When you come out of the metro at Morby Centrum, go up the escalators and through the front doors, turn immediately right past the sushi restaurant with the red sign, almost doubling back on yourself to go down the road under the motorway bridge. We took a few wrong turns before we went down the right way!
At the roundabout, take the first right on the road called Morbyleden. You will pass an ICA mini supermarket on your right, halfway on your journey down Morbyleden road.
The hotel is a 15-20 min walk down the Morbyleden road. But there is a bus that regularly runs from Morby C. to just outside the hotel- it's the 606 and is every 20 mins on a weekday. You need to get off when you see the Circle K garage on your right and the loopy GE sign on the General Electric building in front of you. Walk towards the GE building and the Best Western Hotel Danderyd is located to the left of the building, near a big car park area.
Once you've found it, you will be pleased with what you find! less
