If you want a cheap hotel with a short train journey in to central Venice, this is for you. However, be prepared for the 15min walk to Quattro D'altino train station (which takes you to Venice) which in the heat was not fun! Also, after a long day sight seeing, the walk back to the hotel, seemed painful as my legs were already exhausted!!
The walk to the station takes you through a quiet residential area. At night, when the lights are dim, walking alone (solo female traveller) didn't seem appealing. Although the hotel assured me the area is very safe.
Their sister hotel, Crowne Plaza East is right next to the station, so if you are looking to walk less and want to remain out of Venice, book here instead. If I arrived late, I would go to this hotel and ask them to book me a taxi.
Hotel itself was fine, the room is spacious enough and comfortable. A supermarket is conveniently located across the hotel to get any supplies you need.
The neighbourhood where the hotel is at is very quiet and staff advised me it is very safe.
Pro: Price and Ten Euro shuttle service to the airport
Cons: Walk to and from the station in the heat, dim lighting at night
Tip: Check the time table of the trains before going to the station. Double check the weekend train schedules as they are different to the weekday. less
