Was Expecting More...
Booked last minute for not a terrible price, but honestly expected more for what we paid and how well it was rated. Everything seemed clean enough, but could have use a good dusting (see lamp pic). Room was large and spacious but smelled mildewy, like a load of wash left in the machine to long. The beds were comfortable, but the air conditioner ran constantly and only produced semi cool air no matter where the knob pointed making the room feel humid and stuffy. It was obvious by the dryer sheet tucked into the screen that someone on staff knows this room smells. The bathroom was large and pretty clean but there were some maintenance issues that should be addressed. The shower head needs to be attached (reattached?) to the wall and the bar/handrail needs to be repaired (which I discovered when it fell out of the wall while I was in the shower). The electric sockets on the lamps are VERY loose, so my phone charger's connection was sketchy at best. There was no channel guide or password info for the Wifi in the room. Much might have been remedied by contacting the front desk, but since we rolled in around midnight and out again by 8:30a, I feel that getting things right the first time shouldn't require a request.
Breakfast was fresh and plentiful although VERY carb heavy. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. There was a sign stating to ask about dairy and gluten free options (because yes, we're *those* people 🙄). But when I asked, it turns out the only additional option is soy milk... That they were out of. The front desk clerk was super friendly about it and was VERY apologetic. And even though she was incredibly busy and all by herself, she offered to send someone out to get some when they got in. Because we needed to get on the road, I assured her that it wasn't necessary, but her great attitude was certainly noticed!
All in all, while not horrific, the experience was somewhat disappointing. Uncertain if there are better options in the area, but I plan to do a little better research on our way back through. less
