I called the Best Western here in town to reserve a room for my 5 year anniversary with my husband with a certificate that I got from a silent auction in 2018. The certificate I have has no expiration date, I was saving it for this occasion. I called the hotel, spoke with manager Mohammed Rashid & he said it was fine as long as I had the certificate. We got to the hotel, I gave them the certificate & they gave us room keys, we went upstairs, my husband got in the shower, I plugged my cell phone in to charge, & I went to the bathroom to do my makeup. The room phone rang but I didnt get to it in time, knock on the door, I answered, it was Rashid. He rudely asked me where I got the certificate. I told him from my bestfriends benefit, told him the date, his name, ect. He told me that he wanted to know where I got the certificate from because he'd be calling the police because it is fradulent. I told him that I certainly did not make up the certificate, he told me we needed to pay for the room or get out. I told him we live here in town so we would not be paying for a room. We went downstairs, I asked him for my certificate back for proof to contact corporate and he said he was keeping it for evidence, and that coperate wouldnt be doing anything because they are independently owned. I asked him if I could at least have a picture, he let me. I let him know I didnt appreciate the way he talked to me & treated me, to which he replied "you cant blame me based on the town we live in" & accused me of being a drug addict. I left this hotel completely heartbroken, mad, angry upset. How dare he treat me like that & make those assumptions! I truly hope you dont allow your employees to be so distasteful & disrespectful. My husband & I have a trip booked in November & we're staying at a Best Western but we WILL be canceling that stay, we'll go anywhere else! This is the memory I will forever have of my 5 year anniv. On top of that, I'll never get to use the certificate I PAID for! The way this manager behaved was appauling, disgusting and unruly. I will never again stay at a Best Western nor recommend this one. less
