Our first thought when we drove into the parking lot was that we made a huge mistake. The hotel/motel looked like someone just added the title of Best Western to a fly by night / pay by the hour motel. Not impressive, looked run down. After finally getting into to the office it took us 45 minutes to check in. We first arrived too early, so came back and went through so much time of delays. I was shocked that the person who checked us in took my credit card and drivers license and walked away into another room. After about 5 minutes she finally returned. I asked her why she took my card and license she said she had to. Then it seemed that she was having problems using the computer to check us in.
The room was like an inexpensive motel. The bed was horrible, husband and I both rolled to the center and that was even lumpy.
The second day, they changed the sheets, and took our wet used towels, but didn't bring back clean towels. Also didn't vacuum the floors. The ice machine didn't work, and the soda machine also was broken.
Breakfast was good, but not impressed with their seating. Very small table, and tall stools/chairs. I have a disability and thank goodness there was a couple of regular chairs and tables, but that was almost in the lobby and there was lot of foot traffic. The food was okay, not hot, but warm. not a lot of choices but for a small motel that was to be expected.
I also had second thoughts when at the desk when we checked in was a basket with ear plugs and a note offering "free earplugs". Should have turned around but would have lost my deposit. The woman who checked in before us was told there was an extra fee because she used another site to reserve her room. She said that wasn't on any paperwork or even noted when she made her reservations. She was told, "well, my manager is going to add that soon." The woman and I both said if it isn't in writing you can't charge a fee. The clerk finally let the fee go. So make sure you have copies of your confirmation in case they try to add hidden fees. less
