We came to Sydney from the US for a 20-day Holland-America cruise, and wanted to spend a few nights in the city before sailing. Location, moderate price, up-to-date, and clean were our priorities. This hotel met our desire of being convenient to both downtown and the cruise terminal (White Bay Cruise Terminal).
We also wanted more of a "neighborhood" feel vs. "big city", but also have some dining and shopping nearby. Public transportation was nearby to take us anywhere, was easy to use (once we figured it out), and used light-rail and buses. I'm a hamburger and pizza guy, and the neighborhood eateries included those, plus a wide range of cuisine to choose from. We think the food was less expensive than being downtown, as well.
We might have given the hotel a 4-star rating, but gave them a "5" because the staff was so helpful and friendly in setting up our cab rides to the cruise terminal and airport. On arrival at the Sydney airport for returning to the US, I discovered that I had left my mini-iPad in the hotel room. Called the hotel from the airplane while taxiing to the runway, and after further emails from home, they got my tablet returned to me in Florida. Wonderful service! less
