This was the host hotel for a benefit for our troops overseas our this past Memorial Day Weekend. We checked in on Thursday, hotel was nice as was the room.
On Friday afternoon there was a water main break so the hotel and surrounding hotels were without water for a few hours. Not their fault but there was not notice about it, ANY WHERE. I wasn't aware of the issue until I tried to wash my hands after using the restroom.
On Saturday around Midnight our toilet got stopped up (#1 not #2 😉).Went to call the front desk and the phones were out. Had to walk down to the front desk. Again no notice. Girl comes up to room and says, as she's handing me the plunger, do you want to do it or would you like me to? Dumbfounded I said I'll do it.
On Sunday, late morning early afternoon my wife was in the shower and I left the room for a moment. When I returned, about 15 mins later, there was no lights in the room and my wife was feeling her way out of the shower and bathroom. Thankfully housekeeping was in the hall and I reported the problem to her which she immediately radioed down to the front desk. (Phones were still out) Girl from front desk comes up and says we were using too many appliances. We had 2 lamps, the TV and the lights in the bathroom on. She went to the electrical room and flipped the breaker. After a few tries it finally stayed on. She asked if we wanted to move to another room. We said yes since we weren't sure if the lights would stay on. (BTW it was just our room out). We also asked to move to the first floor since we were checking out the next day, Monday. She says OK but it might be a while they need to be cleaned. Fine no problem we aren't in a rush we'll wait. Rooms is ready and we move from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor. I stepped into the bathroom and noticed the sink was about mid thigh on me (I'm 5'6") and realized we were in a handicap room. Walked to the front desk (phones still out) and asked the girl if ALL the rooms on the 1st floor were accessible. She said she wasn't sure. My wife went to the desk to complain and was offered anything in the pantry on her. When Pam the Acting GM acame in, we spoke with her and were put into the presidential suite on the 3rd floor and a nights stay was taken off our bill. We checked out Monday.
Only for the way Pam handles the situation and went above and beyond all weekend for us and the rest of the group did this get rated 3 stars. Will I stay here again? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! less
