The good, lovely quiet location in the forest surrounded by a golf course. Our room on the first floor looked out to the forest, all the rooms have balconies and from there we saw red squirrels, deer, woodpeckers, nuthatches and all manner of other birds. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and some spoke English, but we had a bit of French so got along very well. Not very impressed with the restaurant, we only ate there once during our week stay and it was just OK, much better places (e.g. Riad Marrakech or Le Bistrot des Cochons) in Lacanau Ocean. Didn't eat breakfast there. Small but decent gym and good spa with a pool. The hotel is looking a bit tired in places and isn't very well maintained, looks like Best Western aren't investing as much as they could here, maybe not enough competition to make them. Expect the manager will reply to this with the identical copy/paste he seems to use to reply to most reviews of his hotel, which doesn't inspire confidence, but this place does have its good points as others have said. less
