We stayed at the Best Western Golden Sails about 2 weeks ago over a long weekend. The location was nice with lots of shops and restaurants close by -We recommend going to The Local Spot for breakfast! The marina that this hotel is next to is a bit dirty (lots of debris floating in the water next to the big boats). The hotel on the outside looks a bit scary and run down, but once you get in the lobby, that area is very nice. Our customer service at the front desk was above average compared to other hotels in this price range. Our room was in the back of the building in a standard room. You can definitely tell it's an old hotel (especially the bathroom) but the room was actually pretty nice considering the look of the exterior. The bed was OK, nothing special but I didn't love it. The one thing I didn't care for overall was the fact you need a "voucher" to get a free breakfast. We were told we could get 1 free, then we had to sign up for the Best Western Rewards to get more, which we would have done if we liked the breakfast. We expected the breakfast to be really good, but once we walked over to it, it was nothing different than any other complimentary hotel breakfast that had hot and cold options. We only ate here the first morning, but decided to go elsewhere the next two mornings. Would I stay here again? Only if we were looking for another inexpensive short trip. I don't know if I would stay here a week, but the price is right. less
