We arrived having booked a double delux room with bath. We were shown to room 6! It was small, hot and had a tiny bathroom with shower only. We felt this was totally unacceptable but on complaining to thee helpful receptionist, she eventually found a standard room with bath, attached to the laundry room, room 17.
The bed was hard, there was only one soft chair, there pillows were really old and worn and the duvet too small for the bed. There're was no sheet between duvet and U.S. so difficult when it got hot during the night. The lighting was very poor. Althoug slow, the wifi was fine.
The staff were disinterested. And all were trainees without a trainer it seemed.
Breakfast was good until the last day when the trainee chef was allowed to send in burnt, discoloured horrible, inedible scrambled eggs. We did see the manageress once but she was rushed off her feet as someone had failed to turn up for breakfast. If all the staff were as good as her, here're would be far less complaints.
We might have been less grumpy if we hadn't found out that we had paid far more than we should have done via booking.com. Our four nights cost £403 but if we had booked with the hotel it would have been about £280!
It is quiet but public transport is not good unless you are happy walking half a mile. less
