My friend and I got a deal for this hotel. 1 night with 3 course meal, breakfast and a bottle of bubbly.
It was all well worth it.
We arrived early so was unable to check in but was offered to keep our bags. We were heading Into Glasgow anyway so left our bags in the car. We asked for the directions to the train station, the receptionist didn’t know but she asked the chef to come out and tell us where to go which he did.
We got back around 5.45 and checked in with a lovely receptionist. The room was fine, very clean, the usual, nothing fabulous but very spacious for us.
We had our 3 course meal and took our bubbly with us, ALL the staff in the restaurant were so nice and so helpful, especially our waitress, a pregnant polish? Lady.
The meal was absolutely delicious, we loved every part of it.
The beds were so comfy, especially the pillows which I’m very fussy about normally. We had pre ordered breakfast so didn’t have long to wait once we arrived for breakfast the next day. The cooked breakfast was very fresh and again delicious. The toast wasn’t anaemic like a lot of hotel breakfasts. My friend had the ham and cheese plate with croissants and the ONLY very minor complaint we had was that the croissants were cold. They would have been much nicer warmed up slightly. She mentioned it to the young waiter and he didn’t just take the constructive criticism but he asked if we were staying another night to make sure she had warm croissants the next day. Unfortunately we weren’t but I thought that was a nice touch.
The hotel itself is lovely. Restaurant very comfortable and a nice atmosphere at dinner. All in all we would definitely stay here again and a lot to do with that is the staff, all of whom were great. less
