I have stayed here many times on business, always with my service dog. I have no choice but to have this dog with me and he is a trained service animal. This time, upon arrival, I was told that my room would need to be reassigned because they had to make sure I was in a pet friendly room. I told the check in person I would wait and they then explained that I had to have a pet friendly room to protect guests with allergies. I waited. They explained how unfair to allergy sufferers it would be to have me anywhere but a pet friendly room. I waited. They explained that as long as pet friendly rooms were still available they would be able to check me in. I explained that the last statement was, perhaps contrary to the ADA laws and that I really didn’t need to know how their policies worked. On they went with more explainations of how allergy sufferers would suffer if my “animal” were allowed in a non pet room. How about this.... in the future just assign me a room, any room you like that matches what I have booked and quit with the patronizing explainations of your discriminatory policies on service animals. It’s not a pet, it is not with me so I can snuggle with my furry friend! It is a service animal that allows me to be in public without unacceptable personal risk.
The room was just fine. The iron leaked but no big deal. Noise outside in the night from a couple of inconsiderate guests; not usual for this location and the hotel was not to blame. Internet didn’t work but again not the fault of the hotel because a large area was down that evening. Not a bid hotel. Just a poorly trained check in person. less
