I want to start out by saying that my husband and I have stayed at this hotel every year for three years and have had great experiences every time. The room was always clean. This year, we booked our stay and figured the cleanliness would be even greater due to COVID protocols. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we arrived into our room, there was urine on the toilet seat, stains in the bowl of the toilet, hair on the toilet, and MANY hairs in the bathtub. (I have pictures) The sink looked as if it hadn’t been wiped down as well. This was VERY concerning with COVID-19. It made us wonder what else wasn’t clean. Because we only trusted ourselves to actually clean, we went and bought cleaning products and did a deep clean. We were planning on staying because now we at least knew that we cleaned it. The next morning, I went down to the front desk to let them know about what we walked into. We didn’t want anything, except for maybe a few dollars off the price for our money and time spent to clean it. I showed her the pictures that I had taken, and she tried to tell me that all of the hairs in the bathtub were “scratches” to which I explained that those “scratches” wiped away when we cleaned it out. She offered a better room, which we obviously declined, because at least we knew the room we were in had now been cleaned by us. She also offered for the crew to come and do a deep clean of the room. In light of COVID19 we didn’t want people in our room if they didn’t have to be, so I denied. That was all we were offered, but we had already settled in, so we decided to stay the next 7 nights. That next morning, we were awakened to a room full of exhaust fumes making it hard to breathe. The doors were not sealed well and someone had let their truck run for 30 minutes just pumping fumes into our room. I went to the front desk and told her we were wanted to check out, she told me that we would have to pay the higher rate since we only stayed 2 nights. I told her how absolutely terrible our stay was and she finally said that we would be charged the rate we booked for. As I thought about this more, I think we should be reimbursed for both nights. I think it’s ridiculous that we were asked to pay for those 2 unbearable nights. We were not met with kindness and hospitality. And we will definitely not be staying there again. less
