It’s outrageous. We have repeatedly called front desk and been sent straight to voicemail, only to walk down a minute later and see the front desk worker sitting at the desk playing on YouTube (and ignoring phone). We have made basic inquiries for things like pillows and blankets for fold out (which you would expect to be in the room already) and had to ask about 5 times to actually get help. Every small request is met with disdain and complete lack of interest in helping the very few customers they have at this hotel. It’s not any wonder it’s as empty as it is. I even asked for the manager, Vijay, and was simply told that he stepped off the property and was unavailable. When I asked for him to call me, I received no response.
Aside from the bad service, it bills itself as a “family” hotel with a kitchenette. The rooms are bare bones (our kitchenette features exactly one glass, 2 coffee cups, 3 bowls, 1 large plate, and a handful of utensils. The walls are super thin, so if you have a neighbor who either watches TV or he more than one child, YOU WILL HEAR EVERYTHING. The front desk is no help in this regard (since they can’t be bothered to answer phone). Then, depending on which side of the hotel you’re on, you either get the 12:20am train blaring through horns a-blazing, or the freeway can “lull” you to sleep.
The location is fine, if you’re lucky enough to be put into a room on the western half and have kind of an ocean view of you hang off the balcony . Otherwise your views are the strip mall and highway. And despite the hotel being fairly empty, they are not willing to accommodate requests to change rooms.
The hotel is pricey because of the location. If you don’t mind shockingly bad service, it’s the place for you. less

I want you to please accept our sincerest apologies as we strive for better.
We am going to try and address all your concerns as there are many listed.
If there are multiple incoming phone calls or the operator is on the phone it will indeed go to voicemail, we try our best to answer every call.
Contrary to your statement, your arrival over the thanksgiving holiday was during a surprisingly busy time for us, hence the slow response time for all requests including phone calls, a strong effort is always made to help each customer individually.
Additional dishware are available upon request although none was made.
To be completely clear the room you booked was not considered an ocean view but certainly many of our non ocean view rooms offer it nonetheless.
Ocean view rooms are available at an additional cost.
Our location being a half mile from the beach, town, and right off the 5 freeway has its trade offs understandably.
The residential hill top location of the hotel offers views and privacy are among other special features not offered in other hotels.
That combined with a variety of room types including kitchenette rooms, ocean view rooms, and standard suites.
We wish you happy holidays and safe travels!
