The Best Western Downtown Stuart is a typical motel. Two-story buildings with a nice pool courtyard. The rooms are pretty standard with the typical amenities: alarm clock, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, etc. Nothing over-the-top or anything. The towels and sheets were clean and the room looked and smelled clean.
But the problems begin once you're ready to go to sleep. The rooms are not very well constructed. By this I mean that you can hear any person walking by or talking when they pass your room. Like clear as day. Also, you can hear when the neighboring rooms flush the toilet, use the shower, or use the sink. The sound of the water moving through the pipes is clearly heard through the walls. Every. Single. Use. This is not something I have experienced at any other Best Western, and has been a huge problem for me as it keeps me up at night, even with the air conditioner running.
If you happen to be lucky enough to get a room without these issues, you will be disappointed by the other noises you get to hear. The motel is located near train tracks. Trains run pretty much all night long and they are very disrupting to sleep. If it's not the trains, it's the municipal airport that's not far from the motel. The flight path goes right over the motel and the sound of personal jets and airplanes fill the night as well. So good luck getting any sleep if you are a light sleeper.
Now, if the sounds don't bother you, the comfort of the bed might. The mattress itself is not too bad. But the beds do not have comforters. They have the wool-style blankets. The best way I can describe them is to compare them to the blanket you might get on a plane trip. I do not use a blanket, only a sheet, but it was still uncomfortable to lay on, even when just lounging. And who uses SQUARE pillows on a bed? Both beds in my room had decent pillows, but they were square. If I tilt my head to either side, I'm basically on the edge of the pillow. Super awkward and uncomfortable. Just not worth using to be honest.
All in all, if you like quiet and comfort, you should avoid this hotel. Otherwise everything was good. No complaints about staff, overall facility, wifi, or food. Those were pretty much average for Best Western standards. But the fact that sleep was more of a chore than anything was ridiculous. The only thing I actually use the room for is sleep or to eat. So what's the point if I can't do the main thing I'm there for? I would suggest a different motel/hotel if you can. But it is worth it if you don't mind the noise problems. less

Dear Daniel J,
We are saddened to hear your stay was not enjoyable, so much so that you were compelled to take to TripAdvisor for the very first time and relate your feelings. While the opinions you expressed are yours alone and quite uncommon, we are nevertheless troubled to hear of any guest issues after the fact; our caring team makes every effort possible to address our guests' concerns to ensure a quiet and comfortable stay while at the property. All of our newly remodeled rooms bring a great deal of comfort to our sturdy and superior built hotel; thick poured concrete walls and foundations have weathered the test of time, as well as our guests' requirements for a sound sleep. As it was suggested, one might find a more enjoyable stay at nearby lodgings closer to Burger King and other fine dining establishments. We thank you for input and wish you a fantastic day!
In the Spirit of Hospitality,
Assistant Hotel Manager
