We stayed here for two nights on 25+26th August, we had bought a Groupon deal and gave the code to the hotel at the time of booking.
When we arrived we were bowled over with how breathtaking the scenery was, rolling fields and trees for miles around, it was beautiful.
We booked in at reception and were asked for our Groupon code, I explained that we gave this at the time of booking but she said we needed the voucher also....... I said I would achieve this and email it to the hotel from our room.
The room itself had high quality furnishings and everything looked brand new, the room was part of a converted barn which was directly opposite the main part of the hotel. It was very clean and had a TV and coffee making facilities, the bed was so very comfortable and pillows which you literally 'sunk into'
We had dinner both nights and breakfast both mornings, the breakfast is typical buffet style, we both enjoy this type. The layout was very awkward and at times appeared to be chaotic.
Dinner was very disappointing, the first night the pork I chose was very pink and under cooked, I left it and did mention this to the staff, they took two drinks off the bill, I was still pretty hungry so chose the cheese and biscuits, just to fill me up, the next evening was not much better, staff were helpful and attentive if you asked for anything.
The swimming pool is exceptionally small, if more than 4 people are in there at one time, you can not swim, it has a small sauna and jacuzzi.
Sleep................... This as the title says, is the noisiest hotel we have ever stayed at, the walls are so thin we knew when next door were having a shower, using the toilet or sneezing! The bathroom was very tiny and the shower got so hot you felt burnt.
The doors seemed to bang through the night and woke us both nights but the worst part was the hotel bar opposite, the space between the room and the outside seating area was less than 15 metres away, we could practically hear conversations and car doors banging until almost midnight, some cars were parked directly under our room, it was awful.
We would not visit this hotel again and looked forward to a decent nights sleep at home. less
