As we're getting married here next year we thought we'd sample the food whilst visiting for a wedding fayre. We sampled the Sunday carvery which we ate in the Guinevere restaurant located on the first floor. The restaurant like all the areas of the hotel is a lovely space with wooden beams and a gorgeous fireplace. Despite not having a booking we were seated quickly and our drinks order taken. You can opt for just a main course or add a starter and or a desert for a set price. I'm glad we chose to just have the main course as our eyes were too big for bellies and after a heaped plate from the carvery there was definitely no room for desert. We both had the pork which was tasty and there was plenty of choice when it came to vegetables. My only niggle was the roast potatoes which weren't cooked enough for our liking. As part of the wedding fayre we got a chance to view one of the cottages opposite the hotel which was really nicely done out and the bridal suite was absolutely stunning. We left full and happy and can't wait until it's time to hold our wedding at Derwent Manor! less
