We stayed here for two nights, after a 3 hour drive from LA. It was pretty easy to find despite the road layout having changed since our rental's SatNav was last updated! The hotel is very friendly, both staff and customers, and the room was fine. The breakfast is basic but plentiful, handy for stocking up on calories before a day's hike. The area round the hotel is largely empty with only one restaurant (El Campanario) within walking distance. The empty lots nearby give it a slightly unsafe feel, although we had no problems.
There is an offer of earplugs in the room, presumably for the trains that run nearby. We could barely hear them so this was not an issue for us. All-in-all, a good value hotel. less

Nothing like a hike in Joshua Tree NP to bring forth succor and salubrious joy. And glad that you decided to pick the Best Western Date Tree for your home base when out here. We truly do have one simple and cogent goal. That being: exceed the expectations of each and every guest who come into our hotel.
And less...and we have failed.
Really appreciate you taking the time to go on Trip Advisor and excogitate your thoughts about the property. We read every review--and truly take the comments--the good and the bad--as an opportunity to keep on improving our hotel.
Do hope to see you back at the Best Western Date Tree on your next visit out to Indio.
