My wife and I were on a cross country trip with our cat recently, and we were traveling on a budget. As we neared Council Bluffs, it was time to call it a day, so we stopped at a rest stop and picked up a motel coupon book to see what might be available in the immediate vicinity. The Best Western - Crossroads was advertised with a very reasonable rate and with those special words "pet friendly" in the ad. We gave them a call and they had a room. We arrived a few minutes later and Alex greeted me at the desk. She was polite and engaging .. we had a pleasant conversation as she assigned us to a room. Our room was clean and comfortable. We brought an extra blanket to put on the bed, knowing very well that the cat would be sleeping with us at some point.
After a very complete and tasty breakfast the next morning, we checked out and continued our trip west. We were about 50 miles away when we realized that we had forgotten the blanket! My wife called the motel and asked if it might be put aside so that we could pick it up on our way home in 4 months. The attendant at the desk was happy to comply with our request. We will be stopping again in April, not only to pick up the blanket, but to enjoy a good night's sleep as well! Thanks for helping to make our trip an enjoyable experience... jt less
