My wife and I stayed at the Crandon Best Western over New Year's Weekend '16/'17. Our selection was based on the hotel's proximity to nearby snowmobile trails. We were extremely pleased by our decision. The BW exceeded our expectations - Very clean rooms and common spaces. Additionally, the staff was exceptionally polite and helpful throughout our stay.
Good variety in their continental breakfast, along with pleasant and spacious public gathering spaces. Our only complaint is that the hot tub was out of order the weekend we stayed, and we'd been looking forward to some relaxing soaks! We did not try the pool, and so can't comment on the water temp, but the pool room itself looked to be quite large and as clean as the rest of the hotel.
The BW is located immediately adjacent to the Wolf River State Trail, so riding our sleds right from the hotel property was easy (and from which one can access hundreds of miles of alternate trails.) The hotel does allow guests to park their sleds around the back of the property, and there is plenty of space to do so. Likewise, they have a large parking lot, with extra deep spaces for easy truck/trailer parking. Very easy access off of Hwy 8. Overall, I felt this hotel catered to snowmobilers as well or better than any other I've stay in - two thumbs up!
We will certainly consider staying here again for future winter weekend trips! less
