They respond quickly to any questions we asked prior to our visit. They have a airport shuttle, when we visited last July 2019 at 50 euros regardless of number of guests from Istanbul new airport, and 70 euros if Sabiha airport in Asian side. We eventually got a travel agency who included the pick up and drop off service 5 euro cheaper because we got a tour from them but I think the price is reasonable.
Location is easier to access if you are using car or airport shuttle because it’s facing high way.
There are buses too which you can take going to the port of Emınönu to get the cruise, while Sultanahmet is on top of the hill at the back of the hotel.
It’s a bit like maze going up to the big park of Sultanahmet, but it was quite safe even near midnight and streets were well lighted.
If you go around old town, you’d notice that if you go toward grand bazaar, it doesn’t look so friendly to tourists, like many litters, broken pipes, etc. it might be accessible to tourists’ spots but hotels are so small around there, entrance often connect with bar or restaurant.
Going down to sea shore, many big hotels are there with parking lots. But I walked all the way just to see, and Citadel is just in right location that you don’t need to walk that long to Blue mosque and other museums.
I enjoyed the room facing sea, and once around 17:00, we saw many dolphins. We often bought food and ate at the terrace attached to the room. It was relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
I found old town too busy and too many people. Many big and small hotels near Sultanahmet, but I often saw traffic jam and honking of cars, plus small stairs where cars can’t pass. If the room size is almost same, I wouldn’t have relaxed if I can’t even open my window.
We also enjoyed their breakfast. I loved their honey and I bought some to take home. I learned about this honey only because they served at breakfast.
Lastly thanks to the hotel who allowed us to check in at 7am. May be by chance the room was vacant but it meant for us a lot because flight arrived 5:00, and my high school daughter was too jet lagged.
If I’ll go back to old town, I’ll choose this hotel again. If you choose same relaxing hotel in new town, I’ll bet you’ll pay more. less
