My friend and I had a spa deal. On entering the building I was impressed with the layout, reception and tables set out with bathrobes and questionnaires. We wasted about 10 minutes at reception as the receptionist wanted the email we had received but there was no signal in the end she offered to just take the codes.
After filling in the questionnaire the same receptionist said she would give us a tour, her tour was through the door this is the ladies and the spa area is upstairs to the right!!!!
We used the gym before our treatments and had a good work out, the equipment seemed old but was good. We both said how brilliant our massages were both had different staff as we had the treatments at the same time.
We were hungry by this point so asked the receptionist downstairs what we do for dinner, she said as we hadn’t ordered we had to go to the main hotel. My friend and I were very disappointed at this as when we arrived the same receptionist hadn’t mentioned food and that the kitchen only accepted orders up to 10am.
So after the spa we had to get changed and go to the hotel. Being a vegan there was only one sandwich I could have and I had this with chips which were hardly cooked and cold. The sandwich was tasty though, we weren’t given cutlery or offered sauces. The prosecco we were served (part of the deal) was flat and we had to wait 20 minutes and ask twice to change it.
We headed back to the spa and put our wet swim wear back on and relaxed. If you can call the few chairs and lounges squeezed in relaxing!!!
The pool is a good size but this leaves no room for loungers. The jacuzzi worked when it wanted to, the steam room had wear to it and the sauna had splinters(very dangerous)
This deal was worth it just for the massage, but the receptionist ruined our experience and needs some lessons in customer services.
Best Western need to invest in upgrading facilities and training staff. less

Dear KGMG2013 ,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the issues you encountered during your recent spa day with us. Whilst I am glad to see you enjoyed your treatments & the gym I apologise for the shortcomings you experienced in other areas though I am happy to say we are awaiting delivery of our brand new gym kit over the coming months.
I will ensure all of your comments regarding the facilities & the lunch experience is passed on to the relevant managers for their immediate review.
I do hope this will not put you off returning to Chilworth Manor in the future.
