We stayed here during a late-night drive when we just couldn't go any further. When we checked in, kids are usually free at Best Westerns so we didn't worry about adding them to our room. In the morning, the owner of the hotel stands in the parking lot watching everyone coming and going. It was a little unsettling to have so little privacy at the hotel. Do not stay here if you value privacy... He seems to take attendancel of each room as you walk in and out. We went to breakfast, and as we left the breakfast room (which is extremely small and difficult to navigate with only a few people in the room) we were confronted in the parking lot by the owner. He handed us a bill for an extra $40 for the children. We did't have a choice except to pay it. When we asked why the high cost, he told us "for extra housekeeping and for breakfast". I'm sure our room wasn't any dirtier with small children in the room...we were only in it for 6 hours and they slept the entire time. And they definitely didn't eat $40 worth of cold cereal for breakfast. We would never, ever, ever, ever go back to this hotel. There is another Best Western in town....go to that one instead if you value privacy and don't want to pay an exorbitant price for your small children. less

We would like to apologize that you were uncomfortable during your stay with us. We did not mean to make you feel that way, and were only following third party reservation rules. The reservation was booked through a third party website and only indicated one occupant, not 6, which was the actual number of people in the room, two adults and 4 children. For safety reasons, we do need to have a complete count of occupants, in each room, in case of an emergency. On third party websites, it only gives you a place for number of occupants and no place for number of children at all. Booking through Best Western, yes, children are free, so I can understand where your coming from, as where the reservation was booked through a third party, it states that after 2 adults, each additional person is $10, which is where the extra charge came from. so, hopefully, in the future, you will continue to frequent Best Westerns while traveling and hope you have a great holiday season.
