Looking to complete our Christmas shopping in and around the York area our friends advised of the above hotel offering a "Yorkshire Deal" from October to February.
£99 per room for a two night stay, breakfast included, and £30 allowance per room towards evening meals, sounded to good to be true. On the advice of our friends we elected to pay an additional £20 total for an upgrade to an executive room.
The hotel is situated down a quiet country lane near the village of Huby and 10 minutes drive from Rawcliffe Bar park+ride for York centre.
On arrival we noticed the décor of the hotel appeared to have undergone a tasteful refurbishment, our upgraded room was warm, spacious, clean, and appeared have undergone a similar refurbishment, bathroom was pristine.
Evening meals were excellent, good choice, well cooked and ample portions, I would challenge anyone to eat three courses.
Breakfast was very busy during our stay but well organised with little delay and no table sharing as in some hotels, good choice of food, well cooked and served by friendly and very efficient staff,
To round off our stay there was a cosy bar/lounge with good selection of Yorkshire ales.
There is also a "Bird of Prey" centre within the hotel grounds with complimentary entry included in the deal.
This is without doubt the best value for money break we have been on this year, will we return, you bet. less
