Called motel directly to make reservations. Explained that handicap room wasn't required but needed room near lobby due to husband broke neck, has cancer and heart disease. Is unable to walk distance. Was assured it would be near lobby. Room 105 was near the end of wing. Was told handicap was located in back and even farther from lobby. First night, about 10:30 pm, found large spider in sink. Captured it and took it to lobby. Was told it was harmless wolf spider and very common in Black Hills. Later a front desk employee came to ask if we wanted another room. I told her we needed one near lobby. Nope, only room available was right next door. Found another spider next evening in bathroom and next day, one was on luggage. When hanging our clothes, noticed entire rack was about to fall off wall. Didn't hang heavy coats on it. Toilet paper holder (recessed) would fall out every time we touched it. Breakfast was limited; no meat of any kind. Scrambled eggs 2 mornings; biscuits and gravy next morning. Manager acted obtuse when I was trying to explain clothes rack needing repair. Kept asking "In the closet?" Room does not have a 'closet'. When I said near the sink, she said "Oh, that's the closet.". Friends (room 103) had to get a blanket from office because air conditioner wasn't operating correctly, would make roaring noise when it came on and changed from heat to cool at will. Manager said filter probably needs changing, something must have flown into it. On the upside, beds were comfortable and parking at door is a big plus. We stayed here in 2017 and had a wonderful experience. Not this time. less

Thank you for your review Gary. Thank you for reporting your problems at check out. We did have maintenence take a look at the closet rod and resecure it. We did contact our pest control regarding the spiders that you found and also awarded you 2000 rewards points for inconvenience it caused providing you a receipt to show that the points had been awarded. I know this does not reverse the incident but we have tried to make it right as well as correct the issue.
We offer many options at our complimentary continental breakfast, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, yogurt with topping options, three different kinds of juice, regular coffee, decaf coffee, two hot tea options, fresh fruit such as apples, bananas, and oranges, oatmeal with topping selections, muffins and danishes.
Unfortunately we are no always able to meet every guests dietary restrictions, as you stated previously.
We also have had maintenence look at the HVAC system within the room to ensure that it is running correctly.
The handicap room that you inquired about is indeed in the building attached to the pool in the lowest parking lot, further from where your room was located to the distance to the lobby. This was also illustrated on the property map given to every guest at check in.
We wish you the safest of travels and hope that you enjoyed the scenery and beauty that the Black Hills offers.
