Stayed for one night. Room would benefit from some maintenance - the entrance door didn't open fully as the door stop was set in such a position it restricted access to the room; the toilet flush didn't work on arrival (immediate attendance by the maintenance man resolved the issue); shower very basic; club chairs were in poor condition (although comfortable enough). Quiet location, close to the promenade, plenty of places to eat in the town and along the seafront.
The carvery was on offer for dinner in the evening in the main restaurant, or fish and chips. (Other choices were available in the bar - prices very reasonable, and from what could be seen, generous portions.) Opted for the carvery - good choice as the meat was tender. Choice of roast beef, turkey or pork with crackling - or a selection of two different meats (possibly all three perhaps if you ask nicely??) Generous portion of meat - it almost covered the plate. Good selection of freshly cooked hot & tasty vegetables, roast potatoes & Yorkshires, and pigs in blanket. All of which were self-serve and hot. Drinks were reasonably priced in the restaurant and bar. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Full English, cereals, selection of fruit, cheeses, yoghurt and mini muffins, tea & coffee. Generous portions, overall excellent value for money. The staff were all friendly and very helpful, and provided quick efficient service. Would I stay again? Yes, possibly. Would I eat there again? Yes, most definitely! less
