I am actually quite disappointed by some of the reviews that I read on this site. I have stayed at many Best Westerns and my husband and I are about to be diamond select members. People who have not stayed at Best Western hotels before may not understand that there are various categories for their hotels. This hotel was the basic blue Best Western Inn.
While I do feel loyal to the brand, I don’t like every Best Western Inn that I have stayed at. How nice they are It depends upon the management. Some of them are extremely nice, and some of them are downright awful. As far as the blue Best Western Inns go, this was the nicest one I have stayed at in about a year. The management seems to go out of their way to give guests a very comfortable and cozy experience. There are beautiful baskets of flowers hanging all around the inn. The bedding of the room was very fresh looking, not wrinkled and unattractive as I’ve found at some places. The beds were very comfortable. The cozy room itself is a good size with plenty of lamps and places to plug in electronics. There was a beautiful large picture on the wall of an eagle. While some inns are not serving breakfast at all, just snacks in the morning, this inn does what all inns did pre-pandemic and that is to serve a real breakfast of eggs, sausage or ham, biscuits, muffins, waffles, bagels, and fresh fruit. You can choose between 2% or whole milk. There is plenty of fresh, great tasting coffee and tea. Food was also served on regular plates, not plastic or paper, and regular eating utensils were included. For us, this met the same standard as the Best Western Plus, except for the elevator, and I’ve stayed in some Best Western Plus Inns that weren’t as nice as this one. Service was exceptional. We had a slight problem with our sink plunger, and we called to have it fixed. There was a man over immediately to fix it. The exterior of the property is very well-maintained, with trash cans not overflowing as I have seen at some places. It is obvious that they care a great deal about their property.
I noted complaints about the lack of an elevator in reviews this site. Before any guests choose to stay in a particular hotel, they should ensure that they want a first floor room if that is what they need. Always call ahead to make sure that you get the first floor room when you reserve your room if that is what you want. Don’t complain about getting a second floor room where there’s no elevator if you have not done this first and then write a bad review on the inn. Also, please note that ANY basic blue Best Western Inn likely does not have an elevator. Many of the basic blue Best Western Inns don’t even serve breakfast.
We truly loved this place, and we’d love to stay again while in the area. The only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because it doesn’t have a hot tub or pool. less
