We stayed a single Saturday night in late June, and while demand for rooms no doubt contributed to the $203 a night charge, we felt the quality of the hotel was no where near the price charged. The hotel is about 4 miles from Lake Michigan so it isn't anywhere close to any of the local attractions, yet it was priced like a lakeside resort.
When we checked in, we were given a room far down one wing of the hotel, -we unloaded all of our luggage and went to the room only to find it not made-up and in disarray. I asked for another room, and the woman at the front desk mumbled something about the hotel being completely sold-out as if she were fishing for a reaction from me before finally providing another room equally as far away at the other end of the hotel.
Check-out the next morning was even worse, the young women at the counter was rude and unfriendly. A real snot. She desperately needs to find another line of work.
Were I planning our trip over again, probably would have skipped the area altogether and driven an extra hour to find a more competitive location with better pricing and better service. less
