Clean, refurbished, low end and old motel style with tiny pool in poor location for city center.

Bad points; If you are here for the city, pay 50bucks more and go to a BW on the north side of the river within walking distance of the French quarter etc. We went out looking for local food and sadly it's a low end area too, with only fast food and a low end seafood place close. It is however close to swamp rides and a federal nature reserve if you come for that. Otherwise Its a 30 minutes tricky drive along crowded highways to the city center.
Good points; Staff very friendly and moved us from a room that had a very bad smell of damp. The rooms are clean and well equipped with fridge etc. for families and visiting workers that were staying at the time.
I don't like posting negative reviews, but I have to say, we were fooled by the "quiet area and close to everything" description for the motel on the website. We won't be back, but I respect the positive reviews of others, just different expectations I guess. less

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay but the Best Western Bayou Inn is certainly not a motel is a nice hotel. True with rush hour traffic it can take 30 minutes to get to the quarter but usually it only 10 to 15 minutes and you don't have to pay 35 to 55 dollars a night just to park your car. Don't forget you will pay to park in Quarter and downtown. There are plenty of place to eat real Cajun, French, Asian and others but if your looking chain place like Olive Garden not that there is anything wrong with Olive Garden but it just not what most people want in the area.
