Booked a very much needed 2 night stay through Amazon and couldn't have wished for a better break. Had to change dates due to unforeseen circumstances and it was not a problem.
The staff in all areas were outstanding, exceptionally cheerful and helpful, whilst portraying a genuine enthusiasm for us to make the most of our visit.
Don't know why we were upgraded to the Cherwell Suite, but certainly appreciated the extra space with a comfortable bed (and even more importantly... comfortable pillows), not to mention the power shower, air conditionong and huge television. We do echo the sentiments of another reviewer though, as it would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Dinner in the restaurant on the first night was excellent, and there was plenty of choice for breakfast.
It was easy to walk into Banbury, (reception will give you a map), we were astounded by the shopping opportunities, but a must do is a visit to the museum next to the canal. It shows clearly how Banbury evolved with lots of exhibits and information without being "stuffy", and whilst we were there an exhibition of cartoonist artwork was also most interesting. There are so many other nearby places to see (we did a "bluebell walk" at Whatcote and went to Broughton Castle).......but we shall have to go back because we simply ran out of time.......... less
