This hotel is on a very busy noisey road, so when I checked in I asked if it would be possible to have a quiet room. The receptionist immediately snapped back "did you request one when you booked" ? I pointed out that when I booked the room I wasn't aware the hotel was on a main road. After some huffing I was passed a key and assured this was a very quiet room.
Well, if this was a quiet room the others must have been as noisey has having a bed on runway number 1 at Heathrow airport. My room was right against the road at the front. I couldn't be bothered to walk all the way back to reception to be asked to be moved . . . what feels like a 10 minute walk through a maze of corridors. The room was dusty and very dated. The hotel is very tatty and dated. Carpets are all thread bear.
At breakfast I arrived at 0650 to be told, sorry snapped at, that chef doesnt start until 7am and she, the waitress, would not take my order. The room was full of men in suits all tapping their fingers waiting for the. Lock to hit 7 and the waitress who was milling around to take their order.
This hotel does not do service or anything else particularly well. For the money they charge it represents very poor value. But I guess they thrive on the la k of competition. In future I will be staying at the Premier Inn. less
