I struggle when I write a review when the experience just isn't up to par. I am tempering what I say so my miserable drive doesn't influence the outcome. I have waited a few weeks in order to insure what I write is fair. So here it is...
This is simply not up to the Best Western standard. The parking is dreadful. It is difficult to determine what constitutes the hotel parking lot and that of the adjacent businesses. Add in the lack of lighting, bad pavement and lack of lines and it makes for a feeling of uncertainty you really don't want your guests to have.
Check in was relatively quick considering their computer system was being rebooted...at 7pm.
The room was clean, I will given them that. The furniture was in disrepair. I tried to sit down at the desk and almost fell backwards out of the chair. One of the wheels had been crudely glued together and chose that moment to fall completely apart. When I mentioned it the next morning the desk associate said they had personally glued it together the day before. I guess they need stronger glue.
The bed was pretty nice and the sheets were clean. There was litter on the floor. I went to get some ice and the ice machines was broken. I finally found a functional machine on another floor, across the facility.
Breakfast was thin and sparse.
A comment about their exits and their signage. My room was at the end of the hall near the side door. As I was entering my room I heard someone pounding of the side door. I opened it to find two ladies in their pajamas. They had stepped out to get something from their car and discovered they couldn't reenter through that door. The only alternative was to walk around the facility and the pool and through the main entrance. Typically I see some sort of warning posted but there was no signage advising someone it was strictly an exit.
I love to travel and actually enjoy staying in hotels. Not this time. less
