When I arrived there was some Chinese tour group complaining that the room wasn’t cleaned. The reception wasn’t very polite in telling them that it will be clean after they return to the hotel. That was around 4pm. I went to my room. My AC doesn’t work on a hot day (26c sunny out). The room phone didn’t work either so I have to go down to the reception to tell him. The guy is already busy dealing with various stuff and he wasn’t friendly or seems to care, told me he will come up to check in a minute. Half and hour passed, I called the reception from my cell phone and the guy told me that someone will be there at 6pm. Two hours for me working in a hot room. At 6.30pm, I came down again, the reception said he couldn’t leave the desk because he was the only one here. His colleague came and went to see my room and it transpired that they need an electrician to come in. Called the electrician, it was too late, someone will come tomorrow. My son and his grandmom arrives (it’s a room for three), we were sleeping without AC. It was horrible since we can’t really open the window (the street is too noisy and we felt like we were sleeping on the street). I had trouble falling asleep due to the noise and the temperature. No one got much sleep. Needless to say, it was also my son’s birthday and it is bad enough he has health problem and needed to see the doctor on his birthday. This just totally ruins his day. I booked the place for two nights and I cancelled the second night, obviously. The hotel has no contingency plan, in such 4 star hotel you would expect they would have at least a fan stored for scenario like this, or offer to go and buy one. There were no solution. Had the receptionist acted quicker, came up and call the electrician since my first notice, perhaps he could have come round.
I have been here many times but this is really my last straw. We paid €365 per night for this quality of sleep. Forget it there are many nicer place with nicer staff and better managed.
The last couple times I have been here I really felt that things are falling apart, the show, especially, broke. The water leaked from the shower and handheld shower did not work, in all rooms I have been. Seriously need some maintenance.
All of this wouldn’t be so bad had the staff are well-trained, apologetic and know how to appease clients. I felt like I was dealing with some civil servant clerk who has no notion of customer services and all the guy offered was free breakfast. I don’t eat breakfast, I’m sorry.
