I recently stayed at this hotel chosen by a company that hosted me. I was very pleasantly surprised at its quality in many ways. It's quite new and very clean, also with lovely views of the Italian Alps to the north and the surrounding countryside, since it is located on top of a hill. The grounds are spacious and tranquil.
The staff is very helpful and friendly and completely conversant with English. The head hostess at the restaurant and breakfast buffet in particular is a true treasure of this property. She is always watchful to ensure good service for the guests and possesses a type of friendly, joking personality that Americans love. I personally witnessed her speaking to guests in English, French, and German. The food at the restaurant is quite good and not at all overpriced. An excellent breakfast buffet is included.
The location is somewhat remote and definitely not practical without an automobile, but is very family friendly because of the large number of guests who do visit with automobiles. Since it is in a small Italian town that is not in itself a tourist destination, it is a very safe place for children and a very quiet place for everyone. I was gratified to see a large number of families present at the breakfast buffet from a diverse mix of nationalities and ethnicities. Everyone was treated very well.
I am puzzled by an earlier reviewer's complaint about the towels. They do have approximations of the small wash cloths that are so difficult for Americans to find in European hotels, and there is no problem with absorbancy. I don't believe that the earlier reviewer understood that they are thinner than terry-cloth towels because they are made of a completely different kind of material. They are not inferior towels at all. I was grateful not to have to deal with a tub, rather a walk-in shower in the bathroom attached to my room.
The room rates are quite moderate, undoubtedly because the property is located in a remote town. As long as one has an automobile at one's disposal, the location is quite convenient to vast areas of northern Italy, including Milan and the lakes. This property is much to be recommended. less
