I was not happy with my recent stay at BW Adams inn. I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic, but certain things are unacceptable.
I was home to see my father who is on end of life measures at Boston Medical.
Right from the first night when I arrived my king reservation had been changed to a queen. no biggie really but I am a big man, so it was a minor inconvenience to me and my wife.
The next day I was switched to a king room after much back and forth with front desk who finally accommodated me. What id dint appreciate was that at 12pm sharp they were at the door requesting us to vacate the old room. This was unnecessary as my wife was packing to leave and quite frankly it scared her.
The biggest issue was the maids not wearing face masks. I first accounted this when one got in the tiny elevator with me. I asked where her mask was and she said upstairs. I let this go, but later in the hallway I saw her again and I reported it to the front desk “ who admitted it was a problem”. The next day my wife went to look for coffee because there was none and again encountered the same maid and confronted her about her mask. The maid
pointed to the cleaning closet and said “I don’t have to wear mask, I work with bleach.” My fiancé has a picture if you would like it. Again we reported this.
All of this was exacerbated when I found out the hotel was acting as a relocation for shelter residents due to covid. I feel that I feel that customers should be made aware of this fact because of the safety concerns and potential increased covid threat, especially with maids not wearing masks. It all made sense when I saw the police cruiser sitting in the parking lot at night.
The hotel in my mind has gone down hill, there was no breakfast, no ice, no coffee except decaf after the first day and generally shabby. I understand the pandemic has strained resources, but they have also strained mine and I’m not sure why I had to pay full price for less than full service. It would be one thing if I felt safe, cleanliness was top notch but it wasn’t. most likely I will be staying elsewhere next time. less
