Stayed here for 3 nights as a base to visit Milano and the Lago Iseo in June 2016. The hotel feels like an old Palazzo, both from the outside and when sitting in the inside courtyard, where breakfast is served. Also the rooms are large, with high ceilings.
Check-in was quick and efficient, we had a room on the second floor (202). Air-conditioning worked very well, which at this time of the year was welcome. Beds comfortable and large, bathroom clean, small and friendly. Our room faced the front of the hotel, which in the evening meant that you could hear some of the late guests or locals – but the windows shut rather tight, so we did not feel disturbed. Of course there is the temptation to sit down yourself with a glass of wine or another drink, the sitting area is nice and on a clear night this is a wonderful end to the day.
We did have diner and lunch here, and the kitchen lived up to the rest of the hotel. The risotto is fantastic, mixed salad a very generous portion, Tiramisu wonderful – all fresh and very good. Breakfast is buffet –style and served in a large, very light (open air) inner courtyard with plants on display. Large variety of choices, even little mini-quiches, fresh fruit salad and lots of other things you would not find in most hotels.
The staff was very friendly when directing us how to best get to Milan (park-and-ride with the Metro M2 line, took us about an hour to get to the Milan Duomo, a cheap and time-efficient option), or for any other question.
Wireless for free, apprantly there is a gym, and bikes for rent.
We would stay here again without hesitation, we were extremely pleased with the hotel and really liked it. We payed €80 per night plus €20 for breakfast. Worth every penny. less
